Since the eighteenth century, many American homeowners have made good use of window seats, using them as decorations.

Those small, classy and comfortable backless sofas that you see were conceived in order to plug the recesses of windows. In most cases, seat cushions are custom designed for your home specifically, giving you the ability to have the print or design of your choice. However, you should be more cautious when choosing your material, seeing as how window seats are regularly exposed to the outside and thus you will need to get something reliable and resistant if you want your cushion and your window seats to last longer.

Seat cushions are easy to make and many people will actually find that they can do it themselves at home. There are many simply techniques out there, and here’s one for starters.

Measure the dimensions of the seat, and then after careful consideration, select which form your cushion will have. One of the best materials to make seat cushions is remarked foam, seeing as how not only is it sturdy, it is also easily cut and shapeable into the desired form. After, apply your fabric of choice to the foam so as to cover it, and cut out any excess fabric… and there you have it!
